A delicious and comforting dish that combines sloppy joes and crispy tater tots, perfect for family dinners and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook for about 3-4 minutes until soft and golden.
  3. Incorporate the ground beef, breaking it apart and cooking for 5-7 minutes until no longer pink.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, BBQ sauce, and mustard, cooking for a couple more minutes until well mixed.
  5. Place the frozen tater tots evenly over the beef mixture, cover the skillet, and cook for about 15 minutes.
  6. Remove the lid and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots, covering again for a few minutes to let the cheese melt.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a leaner option, use ground turkey. For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with lentils or plant-based meat.
