Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp taco seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced onions

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Add 1 pound of ground beef and brown it for about 6-8 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  3. Drain excess fat, then stir in 1/4 cup of water and 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Warm 4 large flour tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until they are soft and pliable.
  5. Layer a tortilla with 1 cup of shredded cheese, followed by the beef mixture, 1 cup of sour cream, 1/2 cup of shredded lettuce, 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes, and 1/4 cup of diced onions.
  6. Fold the tortilla in half to create a quesadilla shape.
  7. Cook the folded quesadilla in the skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from skillet, let cool for a moment, then slice in half and serve warm.

Notes

Customize toppings to your preference. For a vegetarian option, use sautéed mushrooms or beans instead of beef.
