- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 Tbsp taco seasoning
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup diced onions
Instructions
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Add 1 pound of ground beef and brown it for about 6-8 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Drain excess fat, then stir in 1/4 cup of water and 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Warm 4 large flour tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until they are soft and pliable.
- Layer a tortilla with 1 cup of shredded cheese, followed by the beef mixture, 1 cup of sour cream, 1/2 cup of shredded lettuce, 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes, and 1/4 cup of diced onions.
- Fold the tortilla in half to create a quesadilla shape.
- Cook the folded quesadilla in the skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet, let cool for a moment, then slice in half and serve warm.
Notes
Customize toppings to your preference. For a vegetarian option, use sautéed mushrooms or beans instead of beef.
