- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, diced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, instant yeast, granulated sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, stir together the warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and blend until a dough forms; knead for 5-7 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rise covered in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- While the dough rises, dice fresh strawberries and mix them with sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
- Once risen, punch the dough down, roll it out into a rectangle, and spread the strawberry filling evenly over it.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into equal-sized rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased pan to rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown, then cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For an indulgent touch, drizzle with cream cheese icing or sprinkle powdered sugar before serving.
