A simple and quick pan-seared steak dinner that brings the steakhouse experience home. Perfect for family dinners or cozy nights in.
Ingredients

- 2 8oz ribeye steaks, or steak of choice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 oz. mushrooms, halved
- 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
- 2 tbsp butter, divided
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp freshly minced thyme
Instructions
- Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the seasoned steaks in the hot skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet, cover loosely with foil, and let rest for 5-10 minutes.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Add the halved mushrooms and cook until golden brown and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and thyme, stirring for another minute.
- Serve the sautéed mushrooms over the rested steaks.
Notes
Let the steaks sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking for even doneness.
