Description

A simple and quick pan-seared steak dinner that brings the steakhouse experience home. Perfect for family dinners or cozy nights in.


Ingredients

  • 2 8oz ribeye steaks, or steak of choice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz. mushrooms, halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, divided
  • 2 tbsp butter, divided
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp freshly minced thyme

Instructions

  1. Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Place the seasoned steaks in the hot skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  4. Remove the steaks from the skillet, cover loosely with foil, and let rest for 5-10 minutes.
  5. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter.
  6. Add the halved mushrooms and cook until golden brown and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Add the minced garlic and thyme, stirring for another minute.
  8. Serve the sautéed mushrooms over the rested steaks.

Notes

Let the steaks sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking for even doneness.
