Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tbsp custard powder (mango flavor)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup mango puree (fresh or canned)
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups whipped cream (sweetened)
  • 1 1/2 cups diced ripe mangoes
  • 1 cup sponge cake cubes or crushed vanilla cookies
  • Optional: chopped nuts or dried fruits for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mango Custard: In a small bowl, mix custard powder with a little milk to form a smooth paste. Heat the remaining milk and add sugar. When warm, stir in the custard mixture and cook until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in mango puree. Let it cool.
  2. Prepare the Whipped Cream: In a mixing bowl, beat cold heavy cream until thickened. Add powdered sugar and whip until stiff peaks form.
  3. Assemble the Trifle: Layer sponge cake cubes or crushed cookies at the bottom of a trifle bowl. Add layers of whipped cream, diced mangoes, and mango custard, repeating until ingredients are used. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with remaining mangoes and optional nuts or dried fruits.
  4. Chill & Serve: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

Use fresh mangoes for the best flavor and color. Make sure the custard is completely cooled before layering.
