- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 2 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- For serving: Vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the pie crust by placing it into a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges as desired.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and unsweetened chocolate together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until light and fluffy.
- Slowly add the melted chocolate mixture while whisking until well combined.
- Gently fold in the flour and then the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pie crust and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the edges are set but the center jiggles slightly.
- Let it cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent treat. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
