Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat and mix in the granulated sugar until well blended.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder, then gradually combine with the wet mixture until just mixed.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
  8. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until barely simmering, then pour it over the chopped chocolate and stir until smooth.
  9. Once the cake is cool, pour the ganache over it, spreading it evenly.
