Description

A cozy and hearty meatloaf with caramelized onions and melted Swiss cheese, perfect for busy families.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Swiss cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients in a large bowl: ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, and salt.
  2. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the crockpot.
  3. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, add Swiss cheese on top to melt.
  5. Check doneness with a toothpick, let cool for a few minutes before slicing, and serve.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for better flavor and don’t overmix to prevent a dense meatloaf. Can be prepared a day in advance.
