Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the mashed bananas gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Spread a generous layer of cream cheese frosting on top before serving.
Notes
Use ripe bananas for the best sweetness. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
