A quick and delicious Chinese dish featuring tender beef, vibrant bell peppers, and a savory sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef top sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Cut the beef into thin strips and place in a bowl.
  2. Make the Marinade: In the same bowl, add soy sauce, sugar, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Cook the Vegetables: Heat oil in a skillet, add onion and bell pepper, and sauté for 4-5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  4. Cook the Beef: In the same skillet, add the marinated beef. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes, then add garlic and black pepper, and stir for another 2 minutes.
  5. Combine Everything: Return the vegetables to the skillet with the beef, add water, and cook for another minute until heated through.
  6. Serve Hot: Serve over warm rice or noodles and enjoy!

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute soy sauce with tamari.
